"Contemporary, Social, Economic and Political Problems Faced by Women and their Solutions in the Light of Sira-e-Taiba" was the title of the seminar, which was organized by the university’s Seerat un Nabi chair.

“Islam is the greatest defender and advocate of women's rights. Islam has given women all the basic rights in social, legal, economic and political contexts, including right to life, education and business," said Jamia Nusrat ul Uloom Gujranwala Chairman Maulana Zahid Al Rashidi while addressing the seminar.

He said that Muslims have to differentiate between religion and civilization to solve problems, adding that husband and wife are two wheels of a car that drive life together and to live a happy life, these wheels need to be balanced.

Al Rashidi, while describing the positive and negative effects of Western civilization on Muslims, said that the Muslim Ummah need to refrain from unacceptable things of the West.

“We need to sit together to find a solution,” he opined.

In this regard, he proposed a grand dialogue under the Seerat Chair of AIOU.
